I’m finally back in Aber to finish my last year of my degree course! Much painting is to be done, and personally, I don’t think there is a better time to be inspired by nature’s colours than in the Autumn! On a mission to document the autumnal scenery, I have been up to our local nature reserve this week, which hosts a brilliant show of the effects the season has on its landscape.
On my first trip, I created a preliminary study of my chosen composition, which helped to inform the process I would need to take when painting on the larger canvas.

I have also been allocated a studio space in the School of Art. To start off my painting from observation I completed a quick painting of the view from the studio, which I plan to do several times over the course of this semester!
