This morning I set out on a trip to find a place where I could paint the mist, which I had seen from my bedroom window, rolling down over the distant hills. I ended up driving along a country road towards a campsite I used to stay when I was younger. The road took me along the top of hills which hosted stunning views of the fields below and dark hills in the distance. Once I had found a suitable place to stop (somewhere I wouldn’t get stuck in the mud, or roll down a hill!) I determined my composition and started to mix paints. Shortly after I had completed my under painting, the scene in front of me had completely transformed into a blurred cloud of rain!

Lesson learnt: always check the weather before deciding to paint! I will return at some point next week (when the weather isn’t so unstable!) and finish my painting. 😊
