    Second Year!

What I saw vs what I painted, Aberystwyth edition. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Catch a glimpse of me on tonight’s episode of Landscape Artist of the Year, this time as a wildcard! On at 8pm, Sky Arts (yes I did get very sunburnt!!!) 😂 Close-ups of another work in progress (64x64cm) ☁️☁️ Returning to a theme I keep circling back to: my newest painting alongside some from my MA, during which (vaguely speaking) I explored contrasts in the landscape. Work in progress. I’ve supplemented my evening walks with painting…this is one of my happy spots and it’s made me so happy painting it (now being too dark to go on walks after work). 🌕 Highlight of the year ✨ Special place with some special memories ✨✨ Currently working on my largest canvas yet (85x140cm)- a project for the Autumn! 🍂 This inconsequential view was where I began my search for the Aurora, during the height of the solar maximum. Following nights of interrupted sleep I managed to catch glimpses several times (some more clearly than others). I wanted to document this starting point as a painting and have included some photographs I was lucky enough to capture during this time. The last two photos are from my Scottish Highlands adventure, earlier this year! ✨
